Student will choose a gourd from many sizes and shapes and I will guide you to design your own creation

Kath’s Krazy Kats
Using acrylic inks, create crazy, colorful and whimsical cats (or dogs or…). You will go home with one or two small framed paintings! Teens welcome with an accompanying adult.
Kathie Rogers says: Once I discovered how crazy and colorful acrylic inks are, I couldn’t stop. I made and sold a number for The Cat’s Meow fundraiser and sold them all.

Creative Writing: Poetry

Soda Can Earrings
Choose from a variety of styles and create one or two pairs of lightweight earrings in your favorite colors (or your favorite soda).

Decorative tile painting
Explore tile decorating with stencils, paint and decals. Participants will be able to make two tiles in which they can decorate with materials and use techniques provided. The tiles will be fired in a kiln to finish them.
Linda Sanchez received an M.A. in Ceramic Art at NMSU. She has won numerous awards for her work and now has a gallery and studio at Duende Arte.

Landscape Drawing
In the workshop you will practice textures, control, and stability in using ink pens of different thicknesses. Then, you will create a complete landscape drawing with the pens.
Aliza Ashkenazi is a visiting artist from Israel. She graciously offered to teach a class, making our group an international one. Her expertise ranges from drawing to webdesign and art installations.

Intro to Photo gravure
In this 4 hour class you will turn your favorite photograph into a limited edition print. At the end of the workshop you will take home 4-6 prints. All supplies included.

Intro to Glass fusing
Learn the basics of fusing glass in a kiln to create beautiful art pieces. You will learn the unique properties of glass, the different types of fusing, and how to cut, break and arrange pieces of glass into a beautiful piece of art.

Light Up Your HeART’s Fire!
Slip into a rhythm of compassion and delight through a fiery introduction to yoga’s heart chakra. The yoga practice will lead you to design your own paisley pattern with symbols and colors reminiscent of ancient stories and roots, then to create together a mural full of fire and light.
